Sharad Kelkar opens up on dubbing for Prabhas in Adipurush, says he is ‘fortunate’ – Times of India

One of the finest actors on Indian TV, Sharad Kelkar has made a smooth transition to movies, starring in projects like Bhuj: The Pride of India, Tanhaji: The Unsung Hero and others. In each of these movies, no matter the length of his role, the 46-year-old has managed to shine through with his powerful performance.

The actor, who apart from his acting chops is also known for his robust and powerful voice, recently shared that he will be dubbing for Telugu superstar Prabhas for his next movie Adipurush, co-starring Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan. The magnum opus, that will see Prabhas donning the role of Lord Ram is directed by Om Raut and recently, the ‘Laxmii’ actor revealed that the latter was insistent that Sharad comes on board as the voice of Ram.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, the Gwalior born Sharad says that he considers himself fortunate that he has been entrusted with such a huge responsibility. Incidentally, Sharad had earlier dubbed for Prabhas in the Baahubali franchise as well and he says that he is extremely happy that from now on, people will remember him as the voice of Ram.

The trailer of Adipurush was trolled for its substandard VFX recently. Post the backlash, the makers pushed the release date of the high octane flick to mid next year, in a bid to rework on the same.
