Shanaya Kapoor’s debut film ‘Bedhadak’ is NOT shelved; shoot to commence in 2023 – Times of India

Sanjay Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Bedhadak’. It was reported that the film has been ‘indefinitely postponed’. However, the film’s shooting status is very much on track.

The official confirmation from the film’s team rubbished the rumours. The star kid will start shooting with her co-stars Gurfateh Pirzada and Lakshya early next year. The clarification also stated that the actors are currently reading scripts and undergoing workshops for the film.

Before making her acting debut, Shanaya earlier worked as an AD in Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil War’.

Recently, Sanjay Kapoor spoke about Shanaya’s obsession with acting. While speaking to ETimes, he said that she always wanted to become an actor. He said, “The desire to be an actor is something that has to come from within. We cannot just counsel or guide someone into becoming an actor! If someone wants to be an actor, we shouldn’t stop that person from chasing their dream. I think this is a wonderful industry to work in and it was Shanaya’s decision to be an actor. Maheep and I have always encouraged her. She has been training for the last 8-9 years. People will only catch a glimpse of her on the screen now but she has been at it, preparing hard from the age of 12. She was always attending her dance classes, diction training and what not. Even during the COVID lockdown, when everyone was sitting at home, she was on her laptop all the time doing rehearsals etc. She is very focused and it was always her decision to be an actor. I never told her to be an actor. But when she said she wants to be one, I supported her.”
