‘Shamshera’ star Ranbir Kapoor plays the doting husband to Alia Bhatt, says ‘I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in my life’ – Times of India

During the event, Ranbir commented on how this year is a big one for him as it is not only the year he got married but also has two big releases – Shamshera and Brahmastra. Quoting one of his most famous dialogues on marriage from the blockbuster ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, he said, “Shaadi is dal chawal for pachaas saal till you die; arre life mein thoda bahut keema pav, tangdi kabab, hakka noodle bhi hona chahiye nah?”

“But boss, after life’s experience, I feel that nothing is better than Dal Chawal!” he quipped while earning hoots and cheers from the audience. Gushing about his wife and married life, Ranbir added, “Alia is the tadka in dal chawal, the achar with it, the pyaz she is everything and I could not have asked for a better partner in my life.”

Talking about his future plans, Ranbir said, “Abhi mujhe bahot kaam karna hai sir. Abhi mujhe family banani hai, unke liye kaam karna hai. Pehle mai khudke liye kaam karraha tha. Nahi nahi, abhi mai bahot kaam karunga.”

Alia, on the other hand, also showed her support to her hubby by sharing his trailer on all her social media handles.

Ranbir will be seen playing a dacoit in the upcoming film that hits theatres on July 22. ‘Shamshera’ also stars Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor in lead roles.

Come September, Ranbir will be presenting his highly anticipated film ‘Brahmastra’ that will see him starring opposite Alia for the first time. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in lead roles.
