Shahid was recently asked in an interview by Siddharth Kannan about his thoughts on a remake of the iconic Imtiaz Ali film, Jab We Met. He was also asked who should play the main leads in the remake?
The ‘Farzi’ star said that he couldn’t say about who could play his role but he was quite sure that there was no one around who would do justice to the role of Geet played by Kareena Kapoor Khan in the original film.
He also said that a script for a remake of Jab We Met would work only if one instantly felt it was better than the original or if it was one that could match it. In that case, Shahid said he would do it, but not just make a remake of an old hit to cash in on the brand value of the original.

Shahid also praised Imtiaz Ali and said he had made a great romantic film that has been enjoyed by generations. He called Jab We Met his DDLJ and called it iconic.
