Shahana Goswami opens up on her innings in the industry, reveals she wants to reach out to a wider audience | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Shahana Goswami stormed into the industry with Farhan Akhtar’s Rock On!! in 2008, since then she has given notable performances in projects like Tu Hai Mera Sunday, Bombay Begums or A Suitable Boy. She has nearly spent 17 years in the industry as an actress.
She is now gearing up for her next release Neeyat, where she will be seen with actors like Vidya Balan, Rahul Boseand Ram Kapoor.Talking about her career, she, in a recent interview, said that as an actor, you are always looking for good storytelling and engaging roles. She added that she wants to explore different emotions and realities through her characters. Adding more, she said that she now looks for what kind of creative collaborations she will have in the film, how much responsibility she will have as far as the story is concerned etc. She further added that she wants to feel like the head of the department who has a great agency , rather than what is going to be her screen time.
Goswami also pointed out that she isn’t being offered a variety of roles, and mentioned that she is good at comedy, but no one offers her that or for that matter even negative roles. She is usually known for her niche content, but now wants to reach a wider audience and Neeyat is the first step towards it.
