Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ takes over GLOBAL trend after OTT release; Twitterati say ‘polished visual effects look even better now’ – Times of India
According to reports, the film’s release online has only added to all the hype and frenzy surrounding the film, with viewers tuning in from around the globe. According to some early data reports, the film has already entered the top trends globally on the streaming platform.
Besides taking its place as the top film in India, it is also reportedly trending in over 50 countries including South Korea, Australia, Canada, South Africa, Mexico, New Zealand, Israel, Iceland, etc.
Those who caught in on all the action on the big screen, and tuned in again to watch the film on their television sets, noticed one major upgrade – sharper VFX. A Twitter user claimed that the film looked even better now, saying, “Watched extended cut of #Pathaan and seems like they also worked on VFX even after the release of the film … Extended cut on prime has polished visual effects, looks even better now.”
For another, it was all about family bonding with King Khan. Sharing a couple of screenshots of the actor, a fan wrote, “Watched #Pathaan for the 24th/25th time maybe, with full family together late at night & enjoyed like first day. My TV screen was smaller than cinema hall’s but thrilled, excited us made it a theatre with loud claps & whistles.”
Another quipped, “Watched #Pathaan on OTT and I have some thoughts. First, Pathaan needs to drop his skincare and haircare routine. How are this godlike locks achievable? Need some answers here.”

However, there were others who begged to differ and said that the film is “actually a bad movie.”
Those who didn’t watch the movie in theatres caught the OTT release, but couldn’t seem to get through the whole film. “Started watching #Pathaan & couldn’t watch it beyond 30mins due 2 poor dialogues, horrible CGI & bad everything else. And this movie was “BIGGEST HIT” in history of Hindi Cinema. Either der is something terribly wrong wth moviegoers in r country or something fishy abt d collection claim,” read a tweet.
Another said that the film was just a copy-paste of other action films. A tweet read, “Watched #Pathaan on Prime, this is clearly the worst movie of the decade. they have made a hotchpotch of Dhoom1,2,3, race2,war,ek tha tiger, bang bang and created a pain in the eyes. And it’s a really bad copy apste. don’t know how people watched this s**t in the theatre!!”

Also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles, ‘Pathaan’ follows the titular spy (Shah Rukh) who comes out of exile to stop terrorist group Outfit X from launching a debilitating attack on India.
It is the fourth film in Bollywood’s spy universe, following Salman Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, and ‘War’, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff.
