See What Vogue Editors Purchased (and Loved) in January

As Vogue editors, we often wax poetic on the latest runway must-haves and home decor treasures, but not every item we gush about on this website ultimately ends up in our closets and homes. Our discoveries are nice to behold—they’re lovely to look at and inspire fun conversation—however, of all the tempting things to buy, what did we actually end up purchasing? Each month we’ll highlight those special finds our editors welcomed into their lives—all the things that made us buyers rejoice.

I have super sensitive skin with rosacea on my cheeks. It definitely flares up in the winter, so I find regularly implementing this serum into my morning routine keeps it under control and calms the redness. I have gotten my family and friends hooked on this!

I first saw this Ganni sweater vest in our Copenhagen street style batch last August but never pulled the trigger until I saw Jennie from Blackpink wearing it on an Instagram post over the holidays. I’ve been pairing it with my Uniqlo x Marni color-blocked turtleneck, and it’s been one of my favorite combos to wear this winter! As for beauty favorites, I feel like I include a Merit Beauty product in almost all of my monthly favorites, but I can’t help that it is truly one of the best beauty brands out there right now. This month I finally caved and bought their concealer, and it has now officially replaced my trusty Glossier one that I’ve been using since I was 15.

I’m in a decorating trance right now, so I purchased quite a few things for the house in January, from this oak wood storage cabinet by Athena Calderone to this handmade paper mâché vase my colleague Naomi Elizée put onto in her 1stDibs curation.

New year, new holy grails! Living in New York City means I walk a lot, but add a large dog on top of that, and it’s safe to say I am constantly on the hunt for sneakers that truly last. After spotting someone wearing these Vessi shoes on the subway, I fell in love with the sleek style and muted color palette—I had to have them. It was only after I bought a pair that I realized that they’re also waterproof: Talk about a win-win! I also added this Ole Henriksen toner to my daily beauty routine a few weeks ago, and I’m certain I can’t look back. I saw results with evening out my skin tone and fading acne marks just overnight. Plus, it smells heavenly!

Consider me influenced! After starting a retinol treatment, I realized I needed an SPF I would actually wear. The internet seems to love EltaMD’s UV Clear Tinted SPF and (perhaps in a not so shocking turn of events) I now do too! It has the subtle coverage I’m looking for in my day-to-day life and has a wonderful texture.

With a very generous gift card under my belt, January was the month I finally bit the bullet on the holy grail of hair dryers: the Dyson Supersonic. Can confirm that it is worth the hype.

I’ve been using Merit’s Minimalist set for the past year, and the time finally arrived to reup my stash. I can’t recommend it enough if you have yet to try it. It’s the ultimate for anyone looking for a seamless no-makeup makeup look in under 5 minutes in the morning.

With Fashion Week around the corner, I’ve begun my hunt for cold-weather pieces that are comfortable, good for being on the go, and, who am I kidding, good on camera—you never know if you’ll be lucky enough to be snapped by Phil Oh! As a result, I’ve been gravitating towards the combination of knee-high boots and long coats, like this pairing from Boden. The boots have a small heel to give me height while still being comfortable enough to work in, and while a classic tailored coat, this one has a nice pop of color to help me stand out.

This palette has been a game changer for my makeup routine recently. The bronzer and blush make my face look more sun-kissed—despite the colder weather—while the luminizer adds a hint of brightness to my cheeks and nose. Before using this palette, I found that my everyday makeup was so-so, and now I’m not sure what I would do without it!

I like to wear color all year round if I can; in winter, I find it’s a good way to pick up my mood. I’ve always wanted to own one of Norma Kamali’s sleeping bag coats and recently scored a red version in the sale. Turns out it’s warm and pretty light too.

And speaking of sleep! I’ve been on the hunt for a truly comfortable sleep mask for a while now—and when I say comfortable, I mean one that blocks out the light without completely squishing my eyeballs! Z-labs padded visors really do the trick.

These black wide-leg trousers from Soft Animal are a new addition to my closet, but they’ve already become a wardrobe staple. I wear them at least once a week—I love the flattering cut, comfortable wool fabric, and the untraditional resin button!
