Burnley boss Sean Dyche was left aggrieved after new Premier League interpretations denied his side a match-saving penalty against Arsenal.
Referee Anthony Taylor reversed his decision to award Burnley a 69th-minute spot-kick after checking his monitor to see Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale had touched the ball before catching Matej Vydra.
Last season, The Clarets conceded a VAR penalty against Leeds when ‘keeper Nick Pope was penalised for catching Patrick Bamford in the follow-through despite clearing the ball first.

‘Our record for getting penalties is horrendous as you know,’ said Dyche.
‘I have to say the keeper does get a touch so in theory that doesn’t given though you might question whether it was a clear and obvious error.
‘But I do get confused. Football changes, the viewpoint changes. Last season, that would have been given. This season, it doesn’t get given. In other seasons, that would be a penalty. The referee seemed clear in his mind it was a penalty.’

Burnley have now gone 13 games without a home win following Martin Odegaard’s winning free-kick after 30 minutes though there was an impressive debut off the bench for £15million winger Maxwel Cornet.
‘It was a pretty sedate first half, nothing in the game until their goal. We were very good after that but we have to turn those performances into wins.’

‘The back four were really solid, Takehiro Tomisayu and Gabriel were terrific. Gabriel has adapted well to this league. He can communicate better as his language improves.

Rival fans briefly threw objects at each other at the final whistle as stewards lined up between them to avoid any physical skirmishes breaking out.
