The video – apparently shot by someone on a bike following behind – shows an overcrowded bus on a busy city road leaning a bit to the left because of the several students travelling on the footboard and hanging on to the window railings.
Then a heart-stopping moment: a boy from among the cluster hanging on to the running bus loses grip and falls flat on the road.
There is a cry of pain and anguish, but apparently the boy was not badly injured. The video ends with him trying to get to his feet.
Fortunately for him there was no big vehicle right behind the bus.
Some Twitter users said this happened in Kanchipuram. The video has gone viral on Twitter.

“He got damn lucky he didn’t fall under the wheels,” a user pointed out.
“Rather stay home and be uneducated than travel in that bus. Shocking – I’ve seen misery travel of the 80s but this is not right for 2022,” commented another user.
