A report on boxofficeindia.com states that the collections were enough to put it in the 6th spot on the list of highest opening-day collections of 2023.
This put it behind Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ which is currently on the number 1 spot with a collection of Rs 55.72 crore. ‘Adipurush’ comes in second with a collection of Rs 31.73 crore, ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar‘ with Rs 13.78 crore and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan earning Rs 13.39 crore. Bholaa rounds up the fifth spot with a collection of Rs 10.12 crore.
According to trade experts, the film had a good start, thanks to the Eid holiday that helped boost its numbers. However, the collections are set to fall on Day 2, as it is a working day. The film is expected to see a rise in numbers over the weekend – Saturday and Sunday.
The film introduces Kartik as SatyaPrem and Kiara as Katha. Kartik is seen pursuing Kiara for marriage as he tries to impress her. The duo gets married. After that, Kiara and Kartik have many difficult experiences together.
‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ opened to positive reviews from fans and critics. Both actors received a lot of appreciation for their performances.
On Friday, Kiara took to her Instagram and penned down an emotional note. She wrote in her stories, “Today what has truly touched me is seeing my fans rejoice with all the reviews coming my way..they have rooted for me since the very beginning and seeing them feel a sense of victory has made me really emotional, I owed it to them, it has taken me some time, but here we are finally! It is their success. This love is genuinely magical.”
