‘Sarkar 4’ will be made, only if Amitabh Bachchan likes the script, says producer Anand Pandit – Exclusive – Times of India

Anand Pandit has been a producer on some really interesting projects lately – from ‘Thank God’ to ‘The Big Bull’ on OTT. Pandit recently announced that he’s got the remake rights of ‘Omkara’ and he’s also set to make a sequel to ‘Desi Boyz’, which starred John Abraham and Akshay Kumar. His next project is ‘Kabzaa’ starring Kiccha Sudeepa, Shriya Saran and Upendra. It will release on March 17. In an exclusive chat with ETimes, the producer opened up about his upcoming projects.
When asked about ‘Sarkar 4’, Pandit said, “The film is currently in the scripting stage. But we will make it only if Mr Bachchan likes the script and says yes. Otherwise, we can’t make ‘Sarkar 4’ without him.”

The producer also reacted to the trolling on the internet regarding the ‘Omkara’ remake and the sequel to ‘Desi Boyz’. Netizens felt that ‘Omkara’ is not a very old film and doesn’t need to be remade. Reacting to this, Pandit said, “It’s been 15 years and an entirely new generation has come to the movies. Both are different films. ‘Omkara’ is a beautiful story, which I think should be made every 15-20 years as soon as we have a new generation of audience. Also, different directors will make the film differently. On the other hand, ‘Desi Boyz’ is an all time favourite, light-hearted film, so, the sequel would be fun.”
While these projects are in the pipeline, neither the cast nor the directors have been decided yet. Pandit added, “First we want to write the films properly, only then we will think about having a director or actors on board depending on who would suit the script.”

Meanwhile, another project ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ with Randeep Hooda is under production. “I wanted to tell a story of Savarkar which was very important. We are going to release the film as soon as possible,” said Pandit before signing off.
