Sara Ali Khan talks about her worst phase in life: It began with a breakup and ended with two flops – Times of India

Sara Ali Khan made a stunning debut in Bollywood with two films, Kedarnath and Simmba. But soon, the actress hit a rough patch when she delivered back-to-back flops such as Love Aaj Kal and Coolie No 1. She said that the year 2020 was her worst phase in life, which also includes her breakup.
There were rumours that Sara and Kartik Aaryan had began dating while shooting for Love Aaj Kal. While both of them have remained tight-lipped, their romantic relationship and breakup was confirmed by Karan Johar on his chat show Koffee With Karan. The two broke up right before the film’s release in 2020 and post that, they stopped communicating with each other.

“2020 just got progressively worse. It started with a breakup and kept getting worse. It was a very bad year and most of it is on the internet,” Sara shared on The Ranveer Show podcast. She also talked about facing online trolling after the dud performance of Love Aaj Kal. However, she said that the trolling did not affect that much because she was already in a bad personal space.

“Sometimes, when you know you deserve the trolling or when something is really bad, the fact that it is on the internet is so incidental and so trivial compared to the fact that it happened, that it doesn’t really matter. If you’re heartbroken, miserable, exhausted, scared, nervous, kya farak padta hai 20 logg padd rahe hain, khud apne andar jwalamukhi ho raha hai (It doesn’t matter that 20 people are reading about it since you are so disturbed yourself), that it doesn’t matter,” she said.

During the same interaction, Sara also admitted making mistakes in Love Aaj Kal and Coolie No. 1 and said that it is her age to make mistakes. She will be next seen in Gaslight alongside Vikrant Massey. The movie will mark Sara’s second OTT release after Atrangi Re.
