Sara Ali Khan says she made mistakes in films like Coolie No.1 and Love Aaj Kal, says, ‘We should allow ourselves to make mistakes’ – Times of India

Sara Ali Khan was seen engaging in philosophical discussions on failures and experiences in a conversation popular YouTube host Ranveer Allahbadia. Her initial films like Kedarnath and Simmba had done well and the audience and her family had high expectations from her on the work front.
But her next two films did not do well and people had been disappointed with her acting in Love Aaj Kal and Coolie No.1. She admitted in the conversation that she could tell that her performance in Love Aaj Kal was not up to the mark and said that in Coolie No. 1, she was “not convincing”. “I think I am aware of that,” she said candidly.
While everyone’s reaction to her first hit films was “oh my god, Sara”, to the next two which didn’t do well, it was a terse, “Really, Sara?”

She also recalled the time when Love Aaj Kal 2 was released in February 2020 and her performance in the film was trolled. Shooting for Aanand L Rai’s Atrangi Re was to begin later the same month, so she mustered up courage and rang up Aanand ji and asked him if he would like to replace her. He sternly told her that ‘fear and this playing on the backdoor mentality’, perhaps was something she as Sara was thinking about, but such a defeatist attitude did not gel with the character she was to portray in Atrangi Re. ‘You’re never going to talk to me like that ever again’ Aanand ji told her.
His words must have served as a wakeup call for Sara. She admitted that it made her realise that one has to acknowledge one’s mistakes and learn from them. ‘We should allow ourselves to make mistakes’ was her conclusion.
