Samsung’s Object Eraser tool now available for more smartphones – Times of India

Last year, Samsung introduced a new image editing feature called Object Eraser. At that time the feature was only available in the Samsung Galaxy S21 series. Later the company expanded the feature to its other flagship products such as Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S22 series. Now, the company is expanding this editing tool to its older smartphones beginning with the Samsung Galaxy S10 series.
For those who do not know, the feature is quite similar to the magic eraser tool found on the Google Pixel smartphones. The feature allows you to quickly remove unwanted people, objects, shadows, light reflections and other things from a photo. The feature is part of Samsung’s Photo Editor app.
The company is rolling out the Object Erased tool to Samsung Galaxy S10 models with a new update for the Photo Editor app. The update brings the version of the app up to 13.1.02.3. The feature can be downloaded from Samsung Galaxy Store.
Usually we depend on professional photo editing softwares such as Adobe Photoshop for removing objects from our photos. The process also needs special skills but with Samsung’s Object Eraser tool any object can be removed with just a tap, thanks to artificial intelligence.
It is worth noting that to use the Object Eraser tool on eligible Samsung smartphones, you need to enable it first. To know how to turn on the feature, you can follow these steps.

  1. Open Gallery app on your Samsung smartphone.
  2. Select the photo that you want to edit.
  3. Tap on the pencil icon at the bottom bar.
  4. Tap the three-dot menu in the upper right corner.
  5. From the menu, tap on Labs.
  6. Toggle on Object Eraser.
