Samsung ‘trolls’ Apple ahead of iPhone 14 launch – Times of India

Traditionally Samsung does wait. For 10 minutes or perhaps a couple of hours before wearing the troll cap. We are talking about Samsung’s track record of taking digs at Apple after the launch of every new iPhone. However, this time the marketing folks at Samsung couldn’t wait to take a dig at Apple and have done it days before the iPhone has been launched.
In the latest ad for Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Flip4, Samsung is showcasing innovative features, camera capabilities and more. But in the process, it mocks Apple for the event, for lack of camera capability and some more.

Buckle Up | Galaxy S22 Ultra & Z Flip4

“This innovation is not coming to an iPhone near you,” is the tagline for the ad. In the ad, Samsung takes a clear dig at the Apple event first. “Buckle up for Apple’s latest launch as you enter a world where heads will turn, just not in your direction.”
Then it takes a dig at iPhone offering low-resolution cameras compared to the S22 Ultra. “Where the highest resolution camera on a smartphone will be in someone’s pocket.” Samsung’s next jab is about the iPhone not getting the perfect ‘moonshot. “And that epic moonshot that’s getting all the likes won’t be yours.”
Last but not least Samsung goes on about the expectation of the next iPhone being innovative but ultimately not getting it.“Because this innovation is not coming soon to an iPhone near you. It’s already here in the galaxy.
In the past also, Samsung has actively taken potshots at Apple around the iPhone. When the iPhone X was launched, Samsung made fun of the notch. Apple dropped the headphone jack and Samsung was overtly eager to remind users that it still gave that feature. Or when Apple removed the charger from the box of the iPhone, Samsung once again pointed out how it was still offering one. It’s a different story that once Apple did all the above things, Samsung quickly followed suit and did exactly that. The irony, eh?
