samsung: Samsung may be working on Watch 5 Pro, to come with a bigger battery – Times of India

The battery life on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 series hasn’t proved to be satisfying for multiple users. According to SamMobile, the battery life on these devices has deteriorated due to the switch from its in-house Tizen platform to Google’s Wear OS. However, the Korean tech giant now wants to fix this issue with the Galaxy Watch 5 series.
Apart from that, Samsung might also be planning to change its tradition of launching two models of flagship Galaxy smartwatches in different sizes this time. The report suggests that the company could be developing a third variant of the Galaxy Watch 5, likely to be named Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.
The report also claims that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, which carries the model number SM-R925 is expected to have a 572mAh battery. The company has recently confirmed that the other two models in the lineup — Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Classic will also get battery upgrades for running Watch OS 3.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro’s 572mAh battery will reportedly increase the battery capacity of the Galaxy Watch 4 by 60 per cent. The current latest Galaxy Watch series packs a 361mAh battery on the larger-sized variants. It will be a huge upgrade for the battery capacity but it will be interesting to see how Samsung fits the new battery without making the new watch any bigger than the existing 44 and 46mm models.
However, it is important to note that Samsung has not made any official announcements regarding the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and the reports suggest that this model is not yet “100 per cent confirmed”.
