samsung galaxy watch 4: These Samsung Galaxy Watch models are getting some Galaxy Watch4 features – Times of India

Samsung has launched a new update for some of its older Galaxy smartwatches. These include the Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch Active2 and Galaxy Watch3. The update adds some new features like Advanced Fall Detection, improved Group Challenge and new watch faces. Users in the US and South Korea will be the first to get the update, with the other regions set to follow suit soon.
The Fall Detection feature is usually geared to detect if the watch wearer is moving or running. With the new update, a more refined and sensitive Fall Detection feature will come to the Galaxy Watch Active2 and Galaxy Watch3 which will also detect fall when you are just standing somewhere. So suppose you are not walking somewhere but fall down while in a standing position, the feature will send an SOS notification to your pre-chosen contacts for assistance as soon as possible.
The update also brings an improved version of the Group Challenge where you compete with your friends on workouts. This time, the feature will allow you to add family members and friends to a Challenge to see who gets to the goal faster. You can go in as a team or as competitors.
Coming to the watch faces, there are now 10 additional watch faces being added that were a Galaxy Watch4-first. Some of them will let you choose between different background or text colours, while the Animals watch face gives you different animated creatures to pick from like a monkey, rabbit, sheep or cat.
The Samsung Health Monitor app has also arrived on the Galaxy Watch Active2 and Galaxy Watch3. It allows the user to track their heart rate, blood oxygen levels, sleep and stress. A few markets out of the total 42 have got Blood Pressure and Electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring too with the Health Monitor app.
