“Samantha is having a high fever and has lost her voice due to continuous cough and hectic Interviews and public promotional events. Therefore she is now resting at her home and she’ll not be able to attend today’s evening premiere that is held in Delhi which will have several Politicians from the ruling party such as JP Nadda and others in attendance. However, the screening will be now attended by its producer Dil Raju only,” confirmed ‘Shakuntalam’ director Gunasekhar to ETimes.

Samantha also informed her fans with her latest tweet that reads, “Was really excited to be amongst you all this week promoting my film and soaking in your love. Unfortunately, the hectic schedules and promotions have taken its toll, and im down with a fever and have lost my voice.

Her film ‘Shaakutaalam’ is written and directed by Tollywood director Gunasekhar and the film is based on a popular play ‘Abhignyana Shakuntalam’ by Kalidasa that features Samantha playing the titular role in the film while Mohan Babu, Dev Mohan, Jisshu Sengupta, Madhoo, Gautai, Aditi Balan and others are playing other important roles in the film that has its Music composed by Mani Sharma, Camera Cranked by Sekhar V. Joseph and the film is edited by Prawin Pudi. The film is releasing on 14th April.
