Samantha Ruth Prabhu opens up on her failed marriage with Naga Chaitanya, reveals she was in a ‘very dark place’ – Times of India

South star Samantha Ruth Prabhu enjoys a tremendous fan following in Bollywood as well. The diva, who donned the role of a rakish antagonist in The Family Man season 2, alongside Manoj Bajpayee, will soon be seen in the global spy series Citadel, opposite Varun Dhawan. She also has Kushi with Vijay Deverakonda in the pipeline.

On the personal front, the actor recently went through a divorce with now former husband Naga Chaitanya. In a latest interaction with Zoom Digital’s Speak Easy segment, Samantha opened up on that low phase and how things were never easy. She said, “During the toughest times of this condition, I was in a very dark place, and I had some really dark thoughts. I was not going to let these thoughts destroy me. It means I have to start looking one step forward. I am fortunate that many close people stood by me. I still haven’t overcome it, but the number of bad days has reduced a lot.” Earlier, the actor had also admitted that she gave her 100% to her marriage, but things did not go as planned.

She further spoke about keeping a brave front and carrying on with her work, since that was the only way she knew to come out of this. She added, “I don’t know any other way to react. That’s exactly how I want to react, and that’s how I do it. It’s important to know that hard moments pass, and we shouldn’t get stuck in them.”

Samantha is also currently recuperating from myositis, an autoimmune disease.
