Sahil Vaid: I worked in ‘Shershaah’ with all my heart, no regrets – Times of India
Speaking to ETimes in an interview just before the release of the film Sahil had said, “The executive producer of ‘Shershaah’ recommended my name for the character, which I didn’t want to do because I felt it was a small part. I met the director and told him about it but still auditioned for it and got selected. Again, I met Vishnu Vardhan sir (director) and told him that I want to play a soldier. But he wanted me to play the part I auditioned for because the character was with the hero at a crucial turning point of his life and I was convinced. I came on board as I wanted to be part of the film because it was about the army. I am a big fan of films like ‘LOC’, ‘Border’ and ‘Lakshya’. It wasn’t a mainstream kind of story either. It was a biopic of a great soldier and then there was the trust that Dharma showed in me and the belief that I am a good actor. That is why they cast me in their films.”
Sahil’s character is the protagonist Vikram Batra’s best friend and confidante in ‘Shershaah’. Apart from featuring in memorable movies like ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’, ‘Dil Bechara’ and more, Sahil is also a prolific voice-over and dubbing artiste. He regularly lends his voice to popular characters in Hollywood, Korean and South films dubbed in Hindi.
