According to Seacrest, he initially agreed to a three-year commitment on the show, but ended up staying for six years due to how much he enjoyed his role as a host.
“I look up to you. I respect you so much,” Seacrest said while expressing his admiration for Ripa. Seacrest added that he loved connecting with her every day. He also praised the team behind the show, saying that it was an “incredible family of people” that made it all possible.
Seacrest’s last season on the show will be in the spring, and he will be replaced by Mark Consuelos, who is Kelly Ripa’s husband.
Mark Consuelos has previously served as a guest co-host on “Live with Kelly and Ryan” numerous times in the past. Seacrest, a renowned broadcaster, was brought on as a replacement for Michael Strahan on the popular show in 2017, following a search by ABC for a new co-host.
Since joining “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” Seacrest has been juggling multiple commitments, including hosting “American Idol” and his nationally syndicated radio shows for iHeartMedia. While “Live with Kelly and Ryan” is based in New York, Seacrest primarily resides in Los Angeles.
