Russell Westbrook is ‘traded away by the Los Angeles Lakers who reunite with D’Angelo Russell in a three-team swap which sends the former MVP to Utah Jazz’
Russell Westbrook has been traded to the Utah Jazz in a three-team swap which has landed former Laker D’Angelo Russell back in the Purple and Gold.
Ahead of the NBA deadline, the struggling Lakers agreed to send away Westbrook and a 2027 first-round pick to Utah in exchange for Russell, Jarred Vanderbilt and Malik Beasley, according to multiple reports.
Former Jazz star Mike Conley – and a second-round pick – is on the move to Minnesota, where he will link up with Anthony Edwards and Co.
The trade brings an end to months of speculation that LA were looking to rid themselves of the former MVP.
Westbrook’s time in Tinseltown has been nothing short of a disaster for the Lakers, who had hoped his presence would elevate them toward another NBA championship.
The 34-year-old arrived via a trade with Washington, who received Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in exchange.
