Ruben Amorim ‘won’t be the next Tottenham manager due to issues with Daniel Levy’ – with the Sporting boss ‘out of the race led by Mauricio Pochettino and Julian Nagelsmann’

Sporting manager Ruben Amorim has ruled himself out of the running for the Tottenham manager’s job because of an issue with Daniel Levy, according to reports.

Spurs and Levy are on the hunt for a new permanent manager after Antonio Conte left his role last week following a rant targeting the club hierarchy and players.

Several names have been mentioned, with Amorim in the running as interest from some of Europe’s top teams in his services remain.

Cristian Stellini will likely be in charge of Tottenham until the end of the season, but a new boss will then be appointed in the club’s latest bid to drag them forwards.

But that’s unlikely to be Amorim, A Bola report, due to the ‘tempestuous temper’ of Levy.

Spurs chairman Levy has maintained that he has always wanted the best for the club but has shown inconsistencies in his off-the-field footballing decisions.

He’s jumped from management style to management style, going from the likes of Mauricio Pochettino to Joe Mourinho, in a bid to end the club’s long-running hunt for a trophy.

It’s also suggested that Amorim doesn’t want to leave Sporting during a season, which could have paved the way for a summer move to Spurs.

But issues with Levy make that unlikely, with the Portuguese outlet reporting that Pochettino and Julian Nagelsmann are leading the running for the job.

Amorim has enjoyed a wide range of success at Sporting since taking over in 2020.

At the end of the 2020-21 season, the former Portugal international led the club to their first league title in 19 years and has also won three consecutive league cup trophies.

He’s also caught the eye in European competition, though his side are currently fourth in their domestic league table – 18 points behind leaders Benfica.
