‘Keep off the top shelf!’: Roy Keane jokes with Jack Grealish and tells him to ‘stick to beer’ and not to go overboard with his title celebrations… before £100m Man City star tells him he’ll be out for the next THREE nights
- Manchester City sealed the Premier League title with a 3-2 win over Aston Villa
- Jack Grealish has won his first-ever PL title after joining for £100m last summer
- Pundit Roy Keane joked with the 26-year-old to not go overboard in celebrations
Roy Keane jokes to Manchester City star Jack Grealish to take it easy when celebrating his first-ever Premier League title.
City were two goals down against his former club Aston Villa with only 14 minutes of the campaign remaining before scoring three times in five minutes to spark wild scenes at the Etihad Stadium.
Liverpool – who eventually beat Wolves 3-1 at Anfield – had been one goal away from snatching the title in the final stages before their quadruple dreams ultimately ended, finishing one point behind the eventual victors.

Pundit and former Manchester United midfielder Keane imparted some words of wisdom on Grealish after City had won the title.
Keane told Sky Sports: ‘Keep off the top shelf! Stick with beer.’
In which, the England international responded with: ‘Not for the next three nights, no chance, maybe four.
Keane then added: ‘Enjoy it Jack, enjoy it, why not. Fantastic well done.’

The punditry team of Keane, Jamie Redknapp, Gary Neville all joined in the jokes about Micah Richards joining Grealish celebrating.
Redknapp said: ‘These two tonight i’m worried. Grealish responded quickly by saying: ‘And Roy.’
Grealish also invited Gary Neville and his daughter Sophie out to celebrate when prompted by former City star Richards on air.
Richards said: ‘Before you go, Jack, can you just say something to Sophie, she’s Gary’s daughter, she loves you!’
And Grealish joked: ‘What camera am I looking at? Hello Sophie, I hope you’re bringing your dad out tonight, and we’ll have a great night celebrating!’
Grealish, who joined City for £100million last summer, has struggled on the pitch and found himself down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola.
But the 26-year-old insists he ‘cried’ because winning the Premier League meant that much to him.
‘It’s unbelievable. After the third goal went in, I ran on the pitch because we were all celebrating and after that I just went straight down the tunnel, I was crying my eyes out.

‘When you’re a kid all you want to do is play in the Premier League and once you do that the next thing is winning it. I can’t put this into words, honestly.
‘We know how good of a side Aston Villa were, they showed it today but we know with our quality we can beat anyone. We did that in the last 20 minutes or so, I can’t put it into words.
‘It means everything – when I signed here people were saying to me ‘what do you actually want – to win the Champions League or the Premier League?’ and for me it was always the Premier League. I’ve never won it before and I’m so happy.’
The former Villa attacker admitted the Premier League was always what he wanted to win
Grealish has scored just six times since his big money move in 39 appearances with most being from the bench as he has struggled to dislodge key figures of City’s attack.
‘[Being at City has been] harder than I thought. It was more difficult than I thought.
‘I’ve enjoyed every minute, I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone to come here – new changing room, new surroundings, new team-mates, it’s been difficult. Way harder than I thought. But this today just makes up for all of it.
‘I know that I can kick on and I certainly will – I feel like I’ve played my part in games, the goal last week at West Ham which obviously meant a lot.
‘I can kick on so much more, I know in myself how much of a role I have to play in this football club and I will.
‘All these guys have made me feel so welcome. My first day here was the worst ever!
‘Going into a new changing room, something I’ve never done before, but the lads here are unbelievable and I love them all so much.’
