Rumors have been swirling for many months now that wedding bells were on the horizon for Rosalía—and on Friday, the Spanish musician shared that she and Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Rauw Alejandro are engaged following a three-year courtship. Instead of an old-fashioned announcement or an Instagram post, however, the pair chose to reveal the news in true pop star style. In the video for the single “Beso” (or Spanish for “kiss”), their first musical collaboration together, the final frames show the world the singer’s engagement ring for the first time—diamond, of course.
“Beso” is the first single from Rosalía and Alejandro’s joint EP, RR, which also dropped today: a collection of three songs in which the two artists retell their love story. RR features one song for each year of their relationship, as they shared in a recent interview with the Spanish internet celebrity Ibai Llanos: “Promesa” opens the record with a slow bolero, before “Vampiro” and “Beso” see the couple take their love to the dance floor.
The video for “Beso,” meanwhile, was assembled from clips recorded on the couple’s cellphones throughout their relationship, whether exotic vacations or intimate moments backstage at their concerts. Within those three minutes, the couple offers a candid look at their romance—which, it turns out, is only just getting started.
