Rishabh Pant throws away crutches in video shared by him. Fans excited

Flamboyant wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant has posted a video where he is seen walking without crutches. The video was accompanied by a caption “happy no more crutches day.” Pant had recently made a first public appearance during a IPL match after sustaining injuries during a serious car accident late last year.

He has been sharing videos of the progress in his recovery after the severe accident ruled him out of the cricketing action for many months. The famous wicket-keeper batter had met a car accident on Delhi-Dehradun highway on December 30 in which he suffered multiple injuries. He later underwent a surgery at a Mumbai hospital.

After the accident, Pant was airlifted in January from Dehradun to Mumbai at the BCCI’s instructions and placed under the care of Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala, a specialised surgeon hired by the board. Doctors had predicted he will need at least six months to recover from injuries completely.

KS Bharat and Ishan Kishan have been doing the duties as wicketkeepers for Team India in absence of Pant. Many of his fans were happy after seeing the video and wished him speedy recovery. “One step at a time. Speedy recovery, champ!: @FaridKhan tweeted.

“Indian Test Team will miss you in WTC Final,” tweeted another fan. India could be also be without the services of KL Rahul, who has been ruled out of the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season and India’s World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia as he will undergo a surgery on his thigh. The 31-year-old Lucknow Super Giants skipper got injured during a IPL match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Ajinkya Rahane is most likely make his first Test appearance in over a year should Rahul not be fit to take part, with Shubman Gill expected to join skipper Rohit Sharma at the top of the order. Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli are set to line up at No.3 and No.4, with Rahane an option to slide in at No.5.

The World Test Championship finale against Australia is scheduled next month at The Oval.
