Richarlison set to receive one-match ban for throwing a firework during Everton’s win over Chelsea

New Tottenham signing Richarlison is set to be handed a one match ban by the Football Association for his infamous firework throwing incident last season.

The Brazil international joined Spurs in a deal worth £60million last week, but his debut for Antonio Conte’s side will be delayed following an investigation by the governing body into the flashpoint that took place in the game against Chelsea in May.

The 25-year-old scored the winner in a 1-0 win over Thomas Tuchel’s side, a result that was crucial towards the club’s successful fight against relegation.

Tottenham’s new signing Richarlison will miss the first game of the season after being handed a one-game ban for throwing this flare while playing for Everton vs Chelsea last term in May 

But during the game, Richarlison launched a blue flare, that had found its way on the Goodison Park pitch, back into the stands – actions that sparked an FA probe.

The investigation has been concluded with FA disciplinary chiefs deeming Richarlison be handed a one match suspension – meaning he will be unavailable for Tottenham’s opener against Southampton.
