Richarlison clashed with Takehiro Tomiyasu on the touchline during Sunday’s tense north London derby

REVEALED: Richarlison clashed with Takehiro Tomiyasu on the touchline during the north London derby… with the Brazilian pushing the Arsenal defender before he was later involved in the post-match fracas with Aaron Ramsdale

Richarlison and Takehiro Tomiyasu were spotted in a touchline confrontation before either of them entered the fray in Sunday’s feisty 2-0 north London derby win for Arsenal.

With both players warming up on the sidelines, Tomiyasu was seen holding an arm out to stop the Brazilian from interfering with an Arsenal throw-in.

Tensions flared in the clash, with Aaron Ramsdale being attacked by a fan, and despite only coming on in the second half, Richarlison was the centre of much of the controversy, including claims Gabriel Martinelli was frequently diving in the game.

Richarlison was not brought on until the 71st minute, replacing right wing-back Matt Doherty after returning from an injury, but was unable to get his side back into the game.

A goalkeeping howler from Hugo Lloris and a fine strike from distance by captain Martin Odegaard gave the visiting Gunners an ultimately unassailable 2-0 lead going into the break.

The 25-year-old did not take too kindly to Tomiyasu putting out at Thomas Partey’s throw-in, after holding his hands up imploring at the pitch and heading towards the Ghanaian to intervene in the first-half.

However, the Brazilian can be seen striking out at the Japan defender’s arm as his frustration got the better of him, with Tomiyasu choosing not to react.

After eventually taking to the pitch in the latter stages of the second half, the forward was also involved in an altercation with Ramsdale.

With the England goalkeeper taking a goal-kick in the dying seconds of the game, he was caught laughing at Richarlison before sending the ball up the pitch as the whistle was blown for full-time.

Richarlison then confronted the Arsenal stopper in front of the Tottenham supporters, with footage showing him shoving Ramsdale’s face.

And with the goalkeeper then appearing to be kicked by a fan, a melee broke out involving the majority of players from both sides, with the Brazilian being forcibly removed from the scene by a steward.

Spurs are set for an FA and police probe over the events after the match, which saw a fan kick Ramsdale with the club vowing to impose a stadium ban for the supporter.
