Holmgren is believed to have sustained the injury at a Jamal Crawford CrawsOver Pro-Am game that had to be stopped due to unsafe court conditions, Charania reports. The court was reportedly too slippery and players could not keep their grip due to condensation on the hardwood floors.
Holmgren was selected with the No. 2 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Thunder, proceeding No. 1 pick Paolo Banchero and preceding No. 3 selection Jabari Smith.
The seven-footer was a highly-touted prospect coming out of high school, ranked No. 1 in the class of 2021 by ESPN.
Holmgren, 20, played one season of college basketball at Gonzaga, earning second-team All-American and first-team All-WCC honours while winning the WCC Defensive Player of the Year award in his freshman campaign.
Holmgren averaged 14.1 points, 9.9 rebounds and 3.7 blocks in 32 appearances for Gonzaga during the 2021-22 season.
