Report: Bucks to hire Raptors assistant Adrian Griffin as new head coach

The Milwaukee Bucks are set to hire Toronto Raptors assistant Adrian Griffin as their new head coach, according to reports Saturday by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The Bucks fired Mike Budenholzer after a surprising Round 1 exit in this year’s NBA Playoffs.

Griffin has been an assistant for the Raptors since 2018, when former Toronto head coach Nick Nurse was hired. The former NBA player also has been an assistant for the Orlando Magic, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Sportsnet’s Michael Grange also reported that the Raptors, who are also searching for a new head coach, were considering Griffin.

Nurse was fired by the Raptors after a disappointing 41-41 regular season and crashing out against the Bulls in the NBA’s play-in tournament.
