Rekha reveals why she hasn’t signed any film since 2014: I choose where I want to be and where I don’t want to be – Times of India

Veteran actor Rekha is often seen attending several awards functions and Bollywood parties but she hasn’t signed a full-length film since 2014. She recently opened up about her career and revealed the reason why she has been away from the big screen for nearly a decade.
Explaining her point, Rekha told a magazine that she feels blessed to have earned the right to choose what she loves to do and also the luxury to say no to a project that comes her way.Whether she makes films or not, Rekha said that her cinematic persona never leaves her and to recognise that persona is in the eyes of the beholder.
She further said that she has her memories to relive what she loves and when the time is right, the right project will find her. She added that she chooses where she wants to be and where she doesn’t want to be.When Rekha was asked whether the love disappears when you love someone or something, she said that once the relationship is established it is forever. Sometimes we may want more and sometimes it’s just enough and this applies to Rekha’s craft as well.
She said that she was born with an instinct for the perseverance of beauty and to actors and it was her own quest for learning, willingness to keep her eyes and heart open to absorb beauty with positivity not negativity. And this is what gives Rekha the command over her craft.
She added that she feels like a newcomer every day and she trusts those who demonstrate commitment like she do.
Rekha was last seen in her 2014 film Super Nani. Later, she made a special appearance in Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se starring Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol.
