Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi recently confirmed the China launch date of the upcoming K60 smartphone series. The upcoming lineup will consist of three devices — the Redmi K60, Redmi 60 Pro and Redmi K60E which will debut at an event in China on December 27. Now, the company has shared another Weibo post to confirm the launch of another handset which will also launch at the same event. Redmi is set to expand the Note 12 series in its domestic country with the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition variant.
The Weibo post suggests that the upcoming phone will be a performance-focused device. Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition is expected to sport an OLED display and come powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G 5G mobile platform. Moreover, the company has also confirmed other devices like the Redmi Watch 3, Redmi Band 2 and Redmi Buds 4 Lite, which will also launch at the same event for the Chinese market.
Redmi hasn’t yet officially confirmed if these devices will be launched in other markets, including India. The Redmi Note 12 5G smartphone lineup will be introduced in India on January 5.

As per the Weibo teaser, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition device will feature a square highlighted area around the camera bump that will carry the Redmi branding. The poster shows the handset in a Green colour option along with a triple rear camera cutout and flat corners.

Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition is likely to sport a 6.7-inch OLED display that will support a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Apart from this, the device is also expected to house a 50MP triple rear camera setup and may boot MIUI 14 based on Android 13. More key highlights of the phone will surface during the official launch of the phone.
