realme: Realme confirms launch date of flagship smartphone GT 2 Pro – Times of India

Madhav Sheth, CEO, Realme India, has confirmed that the company will launch the GT 2 Pro that will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagship processor that was recently unveiled for Android devices. The Chinese smartphone maker has now confirmed that the new smartphone will be unveiled on December 9.
GSMArena reports that Realme is expected to unveil the GT 2 Pro with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC on the mentioned date, before the Motorola event to claim the title of the world’s first device to be announced with this processor.
This new processor launch by Qualcomm has begun the race amongst smartphone makers to become the first brand to release a smartphone that is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Xiaomi announced that its Mi 12 series will be the world’s first smartphone to come with the new processor, but Motorola beat them as they announced the Moto Edge X30 launch, a new smartphone that is also powered by the same processor in an event on December 9.
Realme hasn’t confirmed all the details about what exactly it will be releasing in the event, but it will be surprising if GT 2 Pro hit all the details within this short span of time. It is highly unexpected of the brand to introduce its “first-ever ultra-premium flagship” without a big-budget marketing campaign before taking the curtains off of it. The company might introduce the GT 2 Pro on the mentioned day, but it might also organise a proper event later on to make this phone available and launch another Realme XT smartphone with 64MP camera sensor.
To conclude, it looks like the Moto Edge X30 will truly be the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered smartphone as it will be officially unveiled on the same day and will be available for sale in China from December 15.
