KBC asked a challenging question featuring Indian cricket legends.
One of the most renowned TV quiz shows, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), recently posed a cricket-related question worth a staggering Rs. 12.5 lakh to one of its contestants. The contestant was challenged to identify the player who did not possess an engineering degree.
The quiz show presented four alternatives for this multiple-choice question: Anil Kumble, Ravichandran Ashwin, Krishnamachari Srikkanth, and Rahul Dravid.
A user on X (previously known as Twitter) recently shared a screenshot of an intriguing question that caught attention. The question inquired, “Which of these cricketers does not hold a degree in engineering?”

For those who may not be familiar, the correct answer is Dravid. As the current Indian head coach, he has achieved a degree in commerce from St. Joseph’s College of Commerce. Interestingly, he was selected for the Indian team while pursuing his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from St. Joseph’s College of Business Administration.
On the other hand, Anil Kumble, a former India captain, has successfully completed a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Rashtriya Vidyalaya College of Engineering. Similarly, Srikkanth holds an electrical engineering degree from the College of Engineering, Guindy, located in Chennai.
In addition, Ashwin, another notable figure, has graduated with a BTech in Information Technology from SSN College of Engineering in Chennai.
Interestingly, all four of the aforementioned players hail from the southern region of India. Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble are proud representatives of Karnataka, while Ravichandran Ashwin and Krishnamachari Srikkanth belong to Tamil Nadu. These individuals have rightfully earned their status as legends of Indian cricket.
On the professional front, Dravid has an impressive record of 590 international matches across various formats. Throughout his career, he has scored a remarkable 24,208 runs, including an astounding 48 centuries and 146 half-centuries. Srikkanth, on the other hand, has represented India in 189 games, accumulating a total of 6,153 runs, which includes six centuries and 39 half-centuries.
Meanwhile, Kumble holds the prestigious title of India’s leading wicket-taker across all formats. With an impressive tally of 956 wickets in 403 games, he has proven himself as a formidable force in the cricketing world. Ashwin, too, has made a significant impact, having scalped 712 wickets in 272 matches thus far.
Ashwin and Srikkanth have been integral members of India’s victorious ODI World Cup teams in 2011 and 1983, respectively.
On the other hand, Dravid, as the head coach, achieved success by leading the U19 team to victory in the 2018 World Cup. Now, he aims to replicate this triumph with the senior men’s team in the highly anticipated 2023 ODI World Cup.
