Rashmika Mandanna’s comment on Bollywood romantic songs irks netizens – Times of India

During the promotional event for the Bollywood film ‘Mission Majnu’s ‘Rabba Janda’ song release, Rashmika Mandanna was asked by a reporter regarding her views on Bollywood romantic songs. Rashmika reportedly said that Bollywood romantic songs were always special for her as most south numbers were merely mass numbers and item songs. She also said that she is really excited as ‘Rabba Janda’ is her first Bollywood romantic song.

Rashmika’s comment on south songs has indeed irked the Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil audience as they have instantly questioned the actor’s knowledge regarding south music. Rashmika’s impression of the south music as merely mass and item numbers has made many angry, quoting her on what basis she can judge South movie music and asking whether she has actually heard any romantic songs from Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam films.

Already there is a strong hate going on against Rashmika from the Kannada audience for disrespecting the industry which introduced her to movies and several pro-Kannada groups have already asked for a ban on Rashmika from acting in the Kannada industry in the future and this kind of statement will surely bring more trouble for the films she is currently acting in Tamil and Telugu.

Netizens are pointing out the romantic songs Rashmika has been part of from ‘Kirik Party’, ‘Chalo’, ‘Geetha Govindam’, ‘Dear Comrade’ and ‘Pushpa’ and asking why she is blindly praising Bollywood romantic songs and putting down South films songs.

Meanwhile, in 2023, Rashmika has several south films in the pipeline that includes ‘Varisu’ and ‘Pushpa 2’.
