Rashmika Mandanna showers love on Maitreyi Ramakrishnan for performing ‘Saami Saami’ in Never Have I Ever 4 – Times of India
The song has been featured in the recently released web series ‘Never Have I Ever’. ‘Never Have I Ever’ narrates the story of Devi (Ramakrishnan), an overachieving Indian-American teenager who is mourning the death of her father while navigating life as a high-school student. Moorjani plays the role of Devi’s cousin Kamala while Poorna Jagannathan is seen essaying the role of Devi aka Maitreyi Ramakrishnan’s mother. On her recent visit to India, Moorjani had opened up about how the show received an overwhelming response in different parts of the country. She had said, “They told me how they feel like this is the first time they’ve ever felt represented or relatable to a character in an American television show. It’s very rare as an actor, especially as a brown actor in this country, to be a part of a show that can be so explosive in so many ways.” ‘Never Have I Ever’ is created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher.
