Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone’s 83 to have a grand premiere on December 22; Indian victorious team to attend – Exclusive! – Times of India

A couple of hours ago, we brought you an exclusive interview with the 83 filmmaker, Kabir Khan. Kabir made a lot of revelations, including the fact that he didn’t have Deepika’s role in mind when he wrote 83. It was only after Kabir met Kapil Dev’s wife Romi that he felt that Kapil is incomplete without Romi; the energy that Romi exudes rubs off on Kapil. And so he went to Deepika, who eventually said ‘yes’.

The big news coming now, first and exclusive again on ETimes, is that a grand premiere of the film will be held in Mumbai’s PVR on December 22. The film releases on December 24. Which branch of PVR will stage the premiere is being kept under wraps for now, but it won’t be long when that is out in the open.

The bigger news is that each and every cricketer from the 1983 World Cup team is expected to be present. Of course, the entire cast of 83, including Ranveer Singh and Deepika will also be in attendance.

83 is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Reliance Entertainment, Kabir Khan and Madhu Mantena.

The heart is however a bit heavy as Yashpal Sharma will be missed- the man who is called the architect of India’s victory in the 1983 tournament. Sharma passed away after a sudden cardiac arrest on July 13, 2021.
