Here are the excerpts from our conversation with Sagarika Chakraborty:
How did this ordeal begin?
I had settled in Norway with my husband. We had two kids- son and daughter. Two ladies from Child Welfare of Norway first went to the kinder-garten and abducted my son. And then came home and abducted my daughter.
They had paid visits to our house earlier too. They had pre-planned it. They said they were coming to help us on how we should manage our children and jotting down something or the other in a notebook.
I never dreamt what lay in store. They created misunderstandings between my husband and me. They wanted to decide where our children will sleep and many other things. One of the two even passed racial comments against me. The movie is just that. It is based on my book ‘The Journey Of A Mother’ which I had written.
Where is your husband?
My husband is in Norway; he has not enquired about us- neither about me nor our kids.
My struggle is still going on. My kids stay with my family. I am the sole breadwinner of my family. My husband doesn’t contribute to any expenses either.
What did you feel when you heard that Rani Mukerji would play your character in ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’?
I was very excited. Rani is my favourite actress (Don’t miss the Rani interview below).
Have you seen the film?
Yes, I have seen the movie. I came to Mumbai on March 9. I was invited to a screening.
Where do you stay now?
Noida.
