Rangers reject £2m transfer bid from Premier League outfit for first team star
RANGERS have rejected a transfer bid for first team star Borna Barisic from Premier League outfit Watford, according to reports.
The Croatian full-back has been linked with a move away from Ibrox this window with a number of English clubs being credited with an interest.
Now The Sun say that Rangers chiefs have turned down a £2million bid from Watford.
We told yesterday how Croatian agent Marjan Sisic – who looks after the likes of RB Leipzig’s £20 million-rated Josko Gvardiol, who is already a Croatian international – believes the Rangers left back could win a big money move.
He said: “Borna Barisic is another member of the Croatian national team who has great prospects for changing his club soon.
“And the position of left back is always in demand.
“He has been with Rangers for a long time now and has played well during that time.
“We know what happens there is that once you play well for Rangers or Celtic, you always win a move to the English Premier League and that’s what could happen here.”
The speculation comes as Nathan Patterson has sealed a switch to Everton for a club record fee of £16million.
The 20-year-old Scotland international becomes a second signing of the transfer window for the Toffees, who are currently 15th in the Premier League, with Ukraine left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko having already arrived from Dynamo Kiev.
Rangers academy product Patterson made his senior debut for the Glasgow outfit in January 2020 and has played 25 times for them in total.
