It didn’t take too much effort for Randy Brown to get hyped about his upcoming fight with Jared Gooden at UFC Vegas 39.
UFC welterweight Randy Brown is had his fair share of ups and downs in the promotion, but he’s finally starting to see the fruits of his labor ahead of UFC Vegas 39.
Brown, a UFC veteran who is coming off arguably the best performance of his career against Alex Oliveira, will face Jared Gooden in the UFC Vegas 39 co-main event. During his UFC Vegas 39 pre-fight press conference, Brown pointed out how the fans shouldn’t look past what could be the most entertaining fight of the night.
“He’s a tough guy and a very dangerous opponent,” Brown said. “I think the consensus is that I’m going to go out there and run through him, but I don’t think that’s the case.”
“He brings a lot of heavy pressure and he’s going to force me to fight, and I always like that.”
Randy Brown is coming off of an impressive submission against Alex Oliveira
Brown has won three of his last four fights, including his most recent submission over Oliveira. He was originally known as a grappling specialist when he signed with the UFC but has developed his striking into a dangerous aspect of his game.
Brown will face a tough test in Gooden, who is desperate for a win after tough losses in two of his last three appearances. He most recently knocked out Niklas Stolze at UFC Vegas 33.
Brown will look to capitalize on the opportunity of fighting in a co-main event and get back in the thick of things in the welterweight division.
