Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Brahmastra’ teaser is reminding fans of ‘Moana’; film’s VFX-heavy scenes leave Twitterati divided – Times of India
Amidst all the hype and anticipation, the team launched a new trailer giving us a good look at all the movie magic that’s awaiting us in theatres in 100 days. The clip also gave us a first look at Ranbir in action shooting flames out of his hands. It also gave us glimpses of Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and even Mouni Roy as the antagonist.
RK fans seemed blown away by the firework display and the VFX that is believed to be the first of its kind in India. ” Looks GRAND, The Short Glimpse is Really Exciting & has doubled My Expectations, VFX is one of the Best I’ve Seen From B’wood Till Now,” read a post on Twitter.
Another raved, “Stills & VFX from the glimpse of #Brahmastra is OUTSTANDING.”
“This is some MARVEL LEVEL STUFF the VFX is so damn good! You can see the hardwork!!” read a tweet.

While the fans seemed to be going gaga over the new clip, there were many who thought otherwise. Taking to Twitter, many shared their opinion about the VFX not being up to the mark. Another kept it real and said, “(I don’t know why), but the first look reminded me of #TeFiti from #Moana.”
Another tweeted, “Not sure if it’s only me or the preview cut is not upto mark.. The VFX looks more serial like & the content looks like a telugu movie called #Damarukam.”
Another Twitter user asked, “There are so many Indian VFX artists that are working on international projects. Top gun maveric is the testament to that. Why are the VFX wonky here? Why does it look like cheap ekta kapoor tv show?”
“This looks really bad…..400 crores for this VFX…God save this movie….I hope it is good as an exorbitant amount is riding on this movie….but so far the visuals paint a disappointing picture #Brahmastra,” read another post.
i KNOW production did not take 99 years only for the VFX to look this shitty. #Brahmastra

DNEG, Prime Focus, which helped Denis Villeneuve’s pick up the Oscar for Best Visual Effects at the 94th Academy Awards for ‘Dune’, is also the one behind the VFX for Ayan Mukerji’s magnum opus.
After five long years in the making, the film is slated to hit theatres this September.
