Ranbir Kapoor spotted playing cricket with Saurav Ganguly, fans speculate if the biopic is on the cards! – Times of India

In September 2021, Luv Ranjan’s production house had announced that they are going to produce Dada Saurav Ganguly’s biopic. Since, then, there hasn’t been any update regarding the cast or who’s going to direct the project. But recently, some reports suggested that Ranbir Kapoor is set to play Saurav Ganguly in this biopic. Meanwhile, Ranbir was at Eden Gardens today to promote his film, ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ directed by Luv.

The cricketer was also at Eden Gardens and was spotted along with Ranbir. These pictures of the two together have further sparked rumours of the biopic. Fans want to see the actor in yet another biopic after he aced Sanjay Dutt’s role in ‘Sanju’.

However, a few days ago, Ganguly was quoted by Bombay Times, refuting these rumours. He had said, “No final decision has been taken. I hope we can share something positive after the meeting.”

Ankur Garg who is the film’s co-producer had said, “Honestly, there’s no update to share at this point in time. The biopic will be one of the projects that we will focus on after our upcoming film’s release. For now, casting or anything else hasn’t been discussed.”

At the moment, Ranbir is gearing up for ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ which is slated for release on March 8. It has him paired opposite Shraddha Kapoor for the first time.
