Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt to star as Ram and Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan: Reports | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Nitesh Tiwari is one ambitious filmmaker. After delivering super successful Dangal, he could have worked with any superstar. However, he went ahead with Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor and took over most of the responsibilities of his next film Chhichhore. He is currently tied up with the Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Bawaal, based on World War. And, for his upcoming next, reports are suggesting that he has locked in Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt for his mega project Ramayan, while talks are on to get Yash of KGF fame on board as Ravana. The official announcement is expected during Diwali. The film is likely to go on floors in December this year.
The report also suggests that pre-visualisation of the epic world has already begun and the team is working on Ranbir’s look as Lord Ram. In fact, Alia Bhatt was also spotted leaving Nitesh Tiwari’s office a few days ago.
There were rumours that the film has been put on hold as the makers were not able to find a suitable actor to play Ravan. But that is not true, as they are soon expected to be signing the papers with Yash. In fact, there was also buzz that Sai Pallavi had been signed on to play Sita, but there was no official word on it. The film is backed by Allu Aravind, Madhu Mantena and Namit Malhotra, while it will be co-directed by Ravi Udyawar.
