Ranbir Kapoor admits being devastated after his breakup: ‘But then mohalle me Aishwarya aai’ – Times of India

Ranbir Kapoor has always been pretty open about his romantic relationships and breakups. His past affairs with Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif have been the most talked about in the industry. He is now married to the love of his life Alia Bhatt and recently became a father to their baby daughter Raha. In his new interview, Ranbir spoke about being devastated after his breakup and then finding solace in Alia’s arms thereafter.
During his recent interaction with Siddarth Kannan, Ranbir was asked if he ever felt like he has finally found purpose in life after falling in love in the past. To which, Ranbir answered the question in affirmation and said that he did feel that way.

Then, he was further asked if he also felt devastated after his breakup and thought that his life was over. Ranbir nodded his head ‘Yes’ and then he added one line to his answer by using a reference to Munna Bhai MBBS song Apun Jaise Tapori, “But then mohalle me Aishwarya aai.”

In the same interview, Ranbir also talked about his darkest phase in life where his mother Neetu Kapoor caught him smoking a cigarette. ‘I haven’t seen my mother feeling so devastated. She thought that I was doing heroin. Of course, you feel bad. I said sorry. But eventually, I guess, parents also give up.

On the work front, Ranbir and Shraddha Kapoor’s Tu Jhoothi Mai Makkaar has released in theatres on March 8. He will be next seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s directorial Animal alongside Rashmika Mandanna. He is also in talks with Kishore Kumar and Sourav Ganguly’s biopic.
