‘Ram Setu’ and ‘Thank God’ record huge drop in collection post Diwali – Times of India
Akshay Kumar’s action adventure dipped 25 per cent on Thursday. Early estimate suggests that the film collected in the range of Rs 8-8.50 crore nett, with most business coming in from Gujrat / Saurashtra and UP circuits. While the multiplexes in of Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata witnessed a downward trend of nearly 35-40 per cent. At the end of three days, ‘Ram Setu’ is expected rake in a total of Rs 34 crore nett, reports Boxofficeindia. Helmed by Abhishek Sharma, this action adventure also feature Nushrratt Bharuccha, Jacqueline Fernandez and Satya Dev in pivotal roles.
Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra starrer ‘Thank God’ also recorded a drop of around 30 per cent on day 3. The film added Rs 4 crore to its total, which stands at approximately Rs 17 crore nett. Speaking about ‘Thank God’, Sidharth had previously shared, “The film is based on a flawed person who aspires to rise from the lower middle class to the upper middle class and beyond and what measures he takes to get there. In between all this he meets with an accident and goes up and meets Chitragupta who decides if he will go to heaven or hell after playing a game. I adored the character and the whole idea that Indra Sir presented, and he did so in a humorous manner. This is an apt fam-com film for Diwali.”
