Rag & Bone co-founder Marcus Wainwright is stepping down as chief brand officer at the end of July, the company announced on Thursday.

Wainwright will remain on the board of directors and as a shareholder after his departure, according to the announcement. The brand has not named a successor; instead, Wainwright’s creative duties will be split between chief merchandising and design officer Jennie McCormick, who will oversee the women’s, footwear and accessories design teams, and senior vice president of men’s design and merchandising Kyle Sweeney, who will oversee the men’s team. Chief operating officer Nicolas Vermot and Andrew Rosen, who is chairman of the board, will continue to oversee daily operations.

“After 84 seasons, 168 collections, a completely wild ride and some of the greatest experiences imaginable, I’ve earned a bit of a break,” Wainwright said in a statement. “I am incredibly proud of this brand; all it stands for and everything it has become. I am also beyond grateful to our amazing team and every single person who has contributed so much along the way. I leave in place a passionate and supremely talented group of people, who I know will continue building the company that will forever be a massive part of my life.”

Rag & Bone was co-founded in 2002 by Wainwright and David Neville, who stepped away in 2016. The brand is best known for its denim and is stocked at Net-a-Porter, Flannels, Zalando, Ssense, Harrods and Selfridges among others. It has 37 stores worldwide.

The rest of the executive team, including chief people officer Rebecca Seidenstein and chief commercial officer Benjamin Harris, will remain unchanged. “Under Marcus’s leadership, Rag & Bone stood the test of time and his talent and dedication over the past two decades enabled the brand to leave an indelible imprint on the American fashion scene. Marcus’s legacy will be felt in those who will carry on the culture he created, his vision, and the Rag & Bone aesthetic,” said Rosen.
