R Madhavan says India should send ‘Rocketry’, ‘The Kashmir Files’ to Oscars too; says ‘Ab bohot ho gaya…’ – Times of India
In a recent interview, R Madhavan told a news portal in a lighter note that they should consider his film ‘Rocketry’ and his co-star Darshan Kumaar’s film, ‘The Kashmir Files’ also for the Oscars. The actor added that Darshan and he are starting campaigns for their respective films.
R Madhavan wished the makers of the Gujarati film, ‘Chhello Show’ and hoped they would win and make India proud. It’s time that we do as well in the film industry as we do as a country, he told IndiaToday.in.
Elaborating further, the actor also hoped that we have an Oscar equivalent or better in India. He added ‘ab bohot ho gaya’ since it has been a while we are trying to prove something over there. About the craze around Oscars, Madhavan stated that it will be good to have the mantle, it will be a different thing. According to him, the only difference with Oscar is that anybody who gets it in the West, there’s a huge difference in their stature, income, salary, in the way they proceed in the industry. The actor feels that we should have one in India where the moment we get the award, there’s a legitimate increase in the valuation to go up.
