PV Ramana, the proud father of PV Sindhu, who clinched bronze medal in Badminton at the Tokyo Olympics has expressed happiness that his daughter brought name and fame to the country. Shuttler PV Sindhu today scripted history by becoming the first Indian woman to win two individual medals in Olympics.
Speaking to the media, Mr PV Ramana expressed happiness with the way his daughter defeated China’s He Bing Jiao 21-13,21-15 in 53 minutes to clinch her second Olympic medal. Her first medal was the silver medal at the Rio Olympics.
Mr Ramana thanked the Government, Sports Authority of India for their encouragement and support. He said, his daughter has won a medal for the country. Stating that playing the bronze medal match can be painful, he said, she has been motivated a lot yesterday and with blessings of everyone, she could win a medal for the country. He also expressed happiness that she is the first Indian woman to win two consecutive medals at the Olympics.
