The actress, who started her new business venture, was ridiculed for the ‘ludicrous prices’. “I wanna be rich to a point where I can casually buy a tablecloth worth 30K INR,” read a tweet that had a screenshot of the table cloth.

Another user wrote, “…I was down to splurge on it bc I’ve been wanting new dinnerware but $60/per plate. Miss Chopra, you crazy.”

One of the users wrote, “We have gone from foreigners ripping off people by exoticizing Indian culture and selling things at ludicrous prices to Indians ripping off people by exoticizing Indian culture and seeing things at ludicrous prices.”

The prices also kicked off a debate online with some guessing that Americans would pay Rs 30K for a table cloth. However, a fan reacted and said, “Errr It is expensive for average American too! We are highly taxed people. So it is insane if she priced it higher than an average Ralph item.”

Another shared a laugh-out-loud emoticon and wrote, “Tablecloth @ $388 is just too damn fancy.”

Chopra, announced her new venture on Instagram and said, “It was challenging to come from India and make America my second home, but my journey led me to a place where I found a second family and friends. I bring a piece of India into everything I do and this is an extension of that thought.”
