Priyanka Chopra TROLLED for comments on leaving Bollywood; Twitterati remind her last week she said ‘comfortable is boring’ – Times of India

Priyanka Chopra spilled her heart out to Dax Shepard and revealed in his podcast that she decided to move to Hollywood as Bollywood filmmakers were “not casting” her and blamed industry ‘politics’. In conversation with the actor on the comedy podcast ‘Armchair Expert’ the actress also revealed that she had ‘beef with people’ in the film industry.
Admitting that she has ‘never said this’ before, she went on to add that she was only opening up now because she felt “safe.”

“I was being pushed into a corner in the (Hindi film) industry. I had people not casting me for reasons, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break,” Priyanka said in the chat.
The actress also added that she had trouble finding the right movies in Bollywood. “I was having trouble back home anyway with being cast in the kind of movies I didn’t want to be cast in,” she said. That’s when Jimmy Iovine reportedly stepped in and asked her to look for representation in acting since she had been living in Los Angeles for over two years then.

Priyanka’s comments, however, have not gone down too well with many, who took to Twitter to troll the star for allegedly ‘playing the victim card again’.

“I LIKE PRIYANKA CHOPRA. But let’s be honest PC didn’t move to US because of bad politics in Bollywood. Bcz it happens in every INDUSTRY. Waise it’s not her fault. First because vo (brown)- Indian hai toh it’s necessary to play the victim in today’s Woke America to grow in Hollywood,” read a tweet.

Another took a look back at her film career and said, “and the victim card is out once again priyanka chopra signed quantico in 2014. she did gunday with yrf in 2014.DDD and Bajirao mastani in 2015. also signed Bharat opposite salman and left the movie halfway bcuz she got another hollywood cameo but she was pushed into the corner.”

A Twitter user recalled PeeCee’s statements that went viral last week, where she claimed that she left the comfort of Bollywood and moved to Hollywood because to her, “comfortable is boring.” The tweet read, “Last time she said comfortable is boring so she decided to go to hollywood now this? What she trying to say exactly?”

In another tweet, a netizen pointed out that Priyanka got to work with the biggest stars in the industry and alleged that she is making such statements, “simply to make news.” Posting a laugh-out-loud emoticon, the Twitter user wrote, “I mean she has some best films in Bollywood, she got to work with srk, Akshay, salman, Ranbir, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, agneepath etc.. even now shes getting jee le Zara with Farhan. Politics is everywhere, even in normal life, so…?”

Another said that the growing competition in the industry coupled with Chopra’s consecutive failed film ventures prompted her to make the move. “That’s a load of nonsense. The other actresses like Deepika, Kangana, and Alia to name a few were giving hits after hits. So she had no option but to leave as she could not match up,” read a tweet.

Priyanka made her US television debut with a leading role in the series ‘Quantico’. She then went on to make her Hollywood film debut with 2017’s ‘Baywatch’ and was most recently seen in ‘The Matrix: Resurrections’. She will next be seen in the Russo Brothers’ spy series ‘Citadel’, opposite Richard Madden.
